Overview

Position Summary

The Driver is responsible to help meet the needs of the customers by delivering and picking up products in a timely, safe and courteous manner.  You will represent the company in a professional and cost effective manner aimed at increasing profitability and customer satisfaction.

 

Responsibilities

Job Duties

  1. Deliver a wide variety of products to different addresses and through different routes
  2. Follow route and time schedule
  3. Perform routine operational checks on the truck prior to delivery (tire pressure, oil levels, fuel, etc.)
  4. Pack and load trucks according to company specifications
  5. Unload goods as per customer specifications
  6. Follow maintenance schedule on trucks as outlined by Supervisor
  7. Notify Supervisor when there is a problem with the trucks and make sure it is corrected
  8. Inform Supervisor of all information that the customer is conveying to them while making the delivery
  9. Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor when not making deliveries
  10. Maintain a clean truck and work area
  11. Record and maintain daily delivery pickup log
  12. Arrives to work, meetings, appointments and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled
  13. Meets agreed upon goals and objectives effectively and in a timely manner
  14. Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
  15. Maintains possession and security of all credentials, as applicable
  16. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

A high school diploma or GED is required

 

Experience & Skills

  • Excellent time management skills
  • Must be able to lift and/or pull a minimum of 50 pounds frequently
  • Valid current driver’s license and overall clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain DOT certification
  • Previous experience operating propane powered forklift strongly preferred
  • Requires solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and planning skills are required
  • Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
