Overview

The purpose of this role is to lead the strategic selling and relationship effort of a team comprised of Managers and Sales Specialists, reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Sales. Coordinate, plan, initiate, and oversee the Sales strategy for this team by formulating and executing our growth initiatives. Develop overall business processes while partnering with the Lifting Leadership Team, Regional Sales Manager, and Business Unit Leaders. Planning, managing, directing, and supporting the technical sales efforts of leads, prospects, and opportunities. The Director of Specialists plays a significant leadership role in the organization, by maintaining senior level relationships with customers, suppliers, and executive leadership within the company.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead and direct the sales strategy and tactical activities of the Managers of Specialists.
  2. To recruit, hire, train, develop, and promote a world class sales specialist team with high technical skills and sales acumen.
  3. Partner with the Revenue Team to align Mazzella’s Segment Strategy to leverage synergies with similar customers.
  4. Reinforce the coaching and training of our “Sales Process” for the creation, development, and profitable growth of new and existing accounts.
  5. Oversee, and hold accountable, the consistent use of customer relationship management system (CRM).
  6. Follow and coach the Six Step Sales Process to move opportunities through the plan, qualify, align, propose, close, and expand stages.
  7. Manage appropriate activities and sales to exceed goals and budgets.
  8. Partner with the Business Unit leaders and Regional Sales Managers to develop specific strategies and targets to exceed customer expectations from the inside out and drive profitable growth.
  9. Provide leadership in change management methodology within the department, company, and throughout the customer’s organization.
  10. Resolve all customer complaints to the satisfaction of the customer and in the best interest of Mazzella Companies.
  11. Maintain on-going communications with the specialists (or staff), as appropriate, regarding problems or issues related to managing opportunities.
  12. Assist with establishing quarterly goals and the process to complete milestones in a timely fashion as well as providing weekly AchieveIT updates at the Business Plan Review (BPR).
  13. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

Position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, or related disciplines. MBA is preferred. A minimum of 10 years’ experience in sales and sales leadership. Previous management experience is strongly preferred.

 

Experience & Skills

  • Extensive people leadership experience, preferably in a multi-dimensional matrix organization.
  • Ability to grasp and learn complex concepts quickly and independently.
  • Experience in conflict resolution, direct labor utilization, budget development, and professional development plans
  • Ability to identify bottlenecks and determine effective solutions
  • Working knowledge of budgets, forecasting, and tracking and trending organizational metrics
  • Requires solid written and verbal communication skills (Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization)
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results through others within necessary timelines
  • Strong organizational, analytical, conceptual, and planning skills are required
  • Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required
  • Must be meticulous, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify

Travel

Travel for this position is frequent; approximately 50%
