Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Crane Service to lead our team with a focus on safety, efficiency, and profitability. In this role, you will have a direct impact on our company's bottom line by overseeing regional service managers, establishing and monitoring information flow, and leveraging CRM, ERP, and financial systems. The ideal candidate will embody a safety-first mindset and possess strong leadership skills to drive excellence in service delivery and operational performance.

Responsibilities

  1. Leadership: Lead and manage a team of regional service managers, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
  2. Profitability: Drive revenue growth and profitability through effective management of service operations, resource allocation, and cost control measures.
  3. Safety: Promote and uphold a safety-first culture throughout the organization, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices in crane and rigging operations.
  4. Service Excellence: Oversee the delivery of high-quality crane service and crane inspection, meeting or exceeding customer expectations while adhering to established standards and procedures.
  5. Information Management: Establish and monitor information flow across departments, utilizing CRM, ERP, and financial systems to optimize workflow efficiency and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  6. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive continuous improvement in service delivery, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  7. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies, to support business growth and expansion.
  8. Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of service operations and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications

Education

A high school diploma or GED is required; an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Industrial Engineering or related discipline is preferred; in the absence of a degree, directly related job experience serving in a management role in a manufacturing facility, where a number of years and proven knowledge may offset the degree requirement

 

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in crane service, inspections, or related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven track record of driving profitability and operational excellence in a service-oriented environment.
  • Strong understanding of CRM, ERP, and financial systems, with the ability to leverage technology to streamline processes and improve productivity.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, foster a collaborative work environment, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Certification in crane operation, inspections, rigging, or safety (e.g., CCO, NCCCO, OSHA) is a plus
  • Extensive operations leadership experience, preferably in the fall protection industry
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Requires solid written and verbal communication skills (Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization)
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and planning skills are required
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify

Travel

Travel for this position is around 25%
