Overview

The Branch Manager oversees the operations and the office activities, ensuring customer orders are properly filled and delivered while maintaining a safe, productive, clean, and organized facility.

Responsibilities

  1. Plan, direct and coordinate all daily aspects of operations and administrative operations
  2. Responsible for improving quality, productivity, efficiencies and profitability through the implementation of effective methods and strategies
  3. Review production schedules, process flow, operations data, and activities
  4. Ensure that production is defect-free, cost effective, timely and in accordance with industry specifications and Mazzella quality requirements
  5. Maintain employees’ safety and environmental concerns
  6. Design and implement control systems to coordinate activities and production planning to ensure products meet industry standards
  7. Communicate with internal/external partners about product specifications, purchasing, and current production capabilities
  8. Oversee and perform cycle counting; ensure the accuracy of inventory
  9. Manage shop equipment and preventative maintenance schedules
  10. With demonstrated leadership skills, use performance management to evaluate staff/employees, quarterly, yearly and in real time for course correction or improvement
  11. Focus on workflow while balancing many factors including production time, labor requirement, course of action, product quality optimization, removing obstacles, using technology, ERP system, all other tools, and resources
  12. Utilize lean methodology to reduce waste, improve production efficiencies to meet on-time-delivery and other production metrics
  13. Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Education

A high school diploma or GED is required; an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Industrial Engineering or related discipline is preferred; in the absence of a degree, directly related job experience serving in a management role in a manufacturing facility, where a number of years and proven knowledge may offset the degree requirement

 

Experience & Skills

  • 5-7 years of operations leadership experience, preferably in industrial markets
  • Experience in conflict resolution, direct labor utilization, budget development, preventive maintenance schedules of equipment
  • Ability to identify bottlenecks and determine effective solutions
  • Working knowledge of budgets and production metrics
  • Ability to identify cost savings strategies and implement promptly and effectively
  • Understand 5S principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization)
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and planning skills are required
  • Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
