Overview

Production Scheduler and Material Procurement Coordinator

 

The Production Scheduler and Material Procurement Coordinator will work closely with all members of the manufacturing team and cranes department, in addition to other cross-functional stakeholders internal and external to the manufacturing team. This individual will be responsible for interfacing with Shop Managers, Contract Administrators, Project Managers, and Engineers to coordinate the manufacturing schedules to meet ship dates and coordinate incoming materials and purchased components. The Production Scheduler and Material Procurement Coordinator will assist in gathering quotes from vendors for materials and components for projects and work with our logistics department to arrange outgoing shipments.

Responsibilities

  1. Gather quotes from vendors for purchasing materials using Bills of Materials provided by engineer or project manager
  2. Develop and manage a production schedule based on shop available hours and hours required per job
  3. Direct the compilation, analysis and development of the production schedule for both crane shops
  4. Match the schedules to meet customer demand, inventory levels and on time delivery metrics
  5. Coordinate daily / weekly meetings with cross-functional departments in order to confirm adherence to production plans to meet customer expectations
  6. Monitor inbound inventory as it pertains to production planning
  7. Follow up on open orders with vendors and escalate as required to team members to ensure schedule meets or exceeds our customers’ expectations
  8. Maintain a high level of focus and planning based on requested ship dates
  9. Manage the receiving and staging of incoming material and components on the shop floor
  10. Coordinate outgoing shipments of completed jobs
  11. Be a part of documenting and adhering to processes within the group
  12. Embrace an environment conducive to continuous improvement
  13. Collect data and track metrics for on time shipping and labor productivity
  14. Report any accidents, incidents or near misses to your manager immediately
  15. Maintain work area, equipment, and tools in a clean and organized manner; follow all Safety Guidelines
  16. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

A high school diploma or GED is required; some college experience preferred or minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience in a high-volume environment

Experience & Skills:

  • 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in an ERP system (preferably NetSuite)
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • Must be reliable, trustworthy, honest and commitment orie
  • Ability to monitor and record manufacturing metrics
  • Must be detail oriented and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, above average in Microsoft excel
  • Track record of meeting deadlines
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, drug screen and E-verify
