  • Overview

    The Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and making adjustments, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.

    Responsibilities

    1. Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment
    2. Operate all equipment including the cut to length, core cutter, slitter, as needed
    3. Pull sheets and complete appropriate packaging per specs of each order
    4. Spin down pre-slit coil stock and complete appropriate packaging per specs of each order
    5. Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops
    6. Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
    7. Maintain work area, equipment and tools in a clean and organized manner; follow all safety guidelines
    8. Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Education

    A high school diploma or GED preferred; trade school or military experience a plus

     

    Experience & Skills

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
    • Tow motor experience preferred
    • Must be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds
    • Requires solid written and verbal communication skills
    • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
    • Strong analytical, conceptual and planning skills are required
    • Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required
    • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
    • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
